Plantronics CA12CD-S has replaced the former model CA12CD. The new CA12CDS SHS2900-01 boasts improved audio quality, a second subscription button in the back of the base and increased density, meaning more units can be used in the same area without interference. There are different colored buttons on the base of the CA12CD-S and on the Push-to-Talk remote handheld units so users can easily/visually see if they have the new “–S” version or the older units. Overall, the performance is the same.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Push-to-Talk remote handset units are NOT interchangeable between the old CA12CD and the new CA12CD-S units. The batteries remain the same between the CA12CD and CA12CD-S models.
The CA12CD-S is a NEW cordless PTT headset adapter facilitating secure, 64 bit encrypted conversations for applications such as 911, dispatch and air traffic control using a 6-wire radio console. The Plantronics CA12CD-S works with any Plantronics H-series headsets (headset not included). Uses digital processing - DECT - and UPCS radio band 1.92-1.93 GHz with range of 150 ft. Heavy duty metal belt clip; Push-to-Talk switch features selectable locking and non-locking modes; base includes two charging wells for the remote unit itself and to charge the extra battery (included with CA12CD-S). Lithium-Ion battery provides users with improved continuous talk time (up to 8 hours) and faster recharging time. Plantronics Quick Disconnect allows convenient snap-on/snap-off connection to any Plantronics H-Series headset. One year factory warranty.
